I realized that my Taliban still hadn’t been played with yet, so I threw a quick solo game down to freshen up on my Force on Force rules. I decided on a simple scenario, and then proceeded to annihilate my Taliban, quite unintentionally… but then again, can I help it if Marines are simply the best warfighting organization in the world, evidently even when they’re only 20mm tall?</p> <p>SCENARIO:</p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TKNBP0aXUiI/AAAAAAAAAMk/Lz2DrHg4MuM/s1600-h/IMG_1753%5B4%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; margin-left: 0px; border-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="IMG_1753" border="0" alt="IMG_1753" align="left" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TKNBS518P9I/AAAAAAAAAMo/xFDyZ1SQZgY/IMG_1753_thumb%5B2%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="363" height="445" /></a>2nd Lt. Hicks joined two of the fireteams from his second squad while they conducted a patrol through a small complex of buildings. As they passed through the complex initially, they only saw a few old farmers who gave the passing marines a dirty look. The lieutenant didn’t like the feel of the place, but decided against searching the buildings, as that might have only further served to irritate the locals. Two hours later, the patrol has completed their route, when the lieutenant decides that perhaps they should check that farm complex one more time…</p> <p>SETUP: I randomized where my taliban went by rolling a D6, the result placing them on the table below (A roll of ‘6’ placed them in the farm, another roll decided which building they’d be in):</p> <p>The Marines were supposed to fight their way across the table and off the far side. I decided to give the Marines a cobra gunship on call, but stipulated that it would only become available after 2 or more Marines had become casualties.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p>BATTLE REPORT:</p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TKNBWWSqHdI/AAAAAAAAAMs/xCM6msp2IB0/s1600-h/IMG_1755%5B3%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px" title="IMG_1755" border="0" alt="IMG_1755" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TKNBaf0mNdI/AAAAAAAAAMw/8_bkrP3jCNo/IMG_1755_thumb%5B1%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="405" height="276" /></a></p> <p>As can be seen from the picture above, evidently the farmers hadn’t been just farmers, as 5 Taliban began right on the edge of the complex waiting for the Marines. Reinforcements flocked towards the complex from the surrounding area. A failed USMC reaction test meant that the first fireteam walked along the path into the village without noticing the crouching forms on the rooftop. A hail of poorly aimed AK47 rounds quickly alerted the Marines to the presence of hostile forces. The second fire team plunged into the plowed field to the right, and immediately began to return fire.</p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TKNBdLife8I/AAAAAAAAAM0/NGDxv34eBbI/s1600-h/IMG_1757%5B3%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="IMG_1757" border="0" alt="IMG_1757" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TKNBgNeYbvI/AAAAAAAAAM4/hjjPQD1WPO8/IMG_1757_thumb%5B1%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="366" height="270" /></a> <a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TKNBkt7d6TI/AAAAAAAAAM8/4l0kxa2Itzg/s1600-h/IMG_1758%5B3%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="IMG_1758" border="0" alt="IMG_1758" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TKNBne0_WlI/AAAAAAAAANA/hq7BaHT4krk/IMG_1758_thumb%5B1%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="361" height="311" /></a> </p> <p>That Taliban continued to move towards the complex as the first turn drew to a close. The Marines barely managed to maintain the initiative at the start of turn two, and proceeded to take cover in the poppy fields, and start laying down some fire upon the Taliban. Meanwhile, three Taliban attempted to rush through the a clump of trees on the left flank and assault the 1st fireteam, but a hail of gunfire put two of them down, and the remaining RPG gunner was so shaken that he sent his RPG sailing harmlessly over the heads of the marines.</p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TKNBqS4nQNI/AAAAAAAAANE/tv3TGA2twVo/s1600-h/IMG_1761%5B3%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; margin-left: 0px; border-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="IMG_1761" border="0" alt="IMG_1761" align="left" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TKNBt7hb1SI/AAAAAAAAANI/emeda_oEC7o/IMG_1761_thumb%5B1%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="332" height="464" /></a> </p> <p></p> <p></p> <p></p> <p></p> <p>As more Taliban tried to move in from the north, the first fireteam continued to keep up an intense fire that prevented them from moving across the open ground. In the exchange of crossfire, a Marine from the 1st FT went down, seriously wounded, but the Marines were definitely giving more than they were getting.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p>The Taliban cell leader ran up behind one of the buildings with 6 of his henchmen and prepared to rush into the complex and seize the commanding position that the rooftop would offer.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TKNBwyWcG3I/AAAAAAAAANM/kIQ5gyNhOdg/s1600-h/IMG_1762%5B4%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="IMG_1762" border="0" alt="IMG_1762" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TKNB01AlZDI/AAAAAAAAANQ/nQwd0q-xfIY/IMG_1762_thumb%5B2%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="640" height="610" /></a>  </p> <p>1st FT pinned down the reinforcements from the north yet again, while 2nd FT eliminated the threat in the building to their immediate front, though they took a serious casualty in the process. Suddenly the cell leader and his 6 jihadists, rushed into the building on the left flank. Distracted by the Taliban to the north, the 1st FT failed to do anything against the freshly visible threat. A hail of gunfire struck the 1st FT’s position, and within seconds every Marine had been hit, two seriously. Hearing his intercom squawk with the news that his Marines were taking heavy casualties, Lt. Hicks got fed up with the situation and called for the Cobra. Responding promptly with a vicious gun run, the cobra pinned or wounded most of the Taliban.</p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TKNB4XYNVRI/AAAAAAAAANU/Cu3cR5vJRco/s1600-h/IMG_1766%5B7%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; margin-left: 0px; border-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="IMG_1766" border="0" alt="IMG_1766" align="left" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TKNB7nb0d9I/AAAAAAAAANY/1mMsb6DwdhI/IMG_1766_thumb%5B5%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="443" height="556" /></a> </p> <p></p> <p>With more than half his force down, and realizing that it wouldn’t be long before the cobra game back, the cell leader sounded the call for retreat, and the few remaining Taliban slipped back into the hills.</p> <p>AFTER ACTION:</p> <p>A fun game, that probably would have gone differently if the Taliban had rolled better. The helicopter certainly helped seal the deal for the Marines, but I’m not sure it was necessary, as they were pretty much holding their own against superior numbers (I had both sides rated the same, giving the Taliban the benefit of the doubt). I think a better tactic for the Taliban would have been to bring the scattered groups together sooner, and close assault the Marines.</p> <p>As for the Marines, they should have stayed together, and pushed to secure one of the buildings immediately. Those poppy fields simply weren’t providing the necessary cover, and it was luck that saved them, not tactics. Lt. Hicks needs to pull his head out of his ass in the future.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p>All in all a good game, and I do really enjoy the rules, I just haven’t gotten to know them well enough to develop strategies and tactics yet, though I’m sure this will come in time. And now, back to painting, as I strive to be productive before I leave.</p> The Warrior Polehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09568772179884921035noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-682914285775172007.post-32405372645200962010-09-19T17:30:00.001-07:002010-09-19T17:30:19.750-07:0028mm Saxon Fyrd (Wargames Factory)<p>My Dark Age project continues as I progressively work my way through painting around 200 Viking and Saxon warriors. I was unhappy with my Old Glory Saxon Fyrd, so I ended up ordering around 96 plastic Saxons from Wargames Factory, and I must say they are some lovely miniatures! I’ve been speed painting in order to get as much done as possible so I haven’t painted their eyes or highlighted the hair and beards yet, but since I was snapping pictures today I thought I’d take a few of the Saxons. These are just the WF Saxons, I left the OG chaps out of the picture. </p> <p align="center"><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TJaqzfPnBTI/AAAAAAAAAME/_a8r2unZkHQ/s1600-h/Wargames%20044%5B5%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="Wargames 044" border="0" alt="Wargames 044" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TJaq2qUTiDI/AAAAAAAAAMI/9xpoxjcF1hA/Wargames%20044_thumb%5B3%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="765" height="333" /></a> </p> <p align="center"><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TJaq5sFCr9I/AAAAAAAAAMM/IgLp10flabY/s1600-h/Wargames%20045%5B2%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="Wargames 045" border="0" alt="Wargames 045" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TJaq760sVDI/AAAAAAAAAMQ/45-HX3NeaF4/Wargames%20045_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="235" height="244" /></a> <a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TJaq_L_92BI/AAAAAAAAAMU/yUXFd00o0ns/s1600-h/Wargames%20047%5B2%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="Wargames 047" border="0" alt="Wargames 047" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TJarB5wRfbI/AAAAAAAAAMY/1Uj5gstW4O0/Wargames%20047_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="216" height="244" /></a> <a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TJarEXDs49I/AAAAAAAAAMc/mfdyA6NCF88/s1600-h/Wargames%20049%5B2%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="Wargames 049" border="0" alt="Wargames 049" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TJarF6Y69EI/AAAAAAAAAMg/MFUHLmbnGYk/Wargames%20049_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="174" height="244" /></a> </p> <p align="center">They haven’t come out too bad, and since they’re rank and file troops that will eventually be part of a horde I’m not too worried about them. I’ve got a Protestant Saxon regiment on my painting table, but in the mean time I snapped pictures of the 4 Swedish regiments of foot, and a horse regiment I had painted up. I’m also toying with some new photography techniques so we’ll see how this goes.</p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TJan2bRsxnI/AAAAAAAAAK4/YIhCl2MyUd8/s1600-h/Wargames%20054%5B4%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px" title="The Swedish Forces so Far" border="0" alt="The Swedish Forces so Far" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TJan6IQH0dI/AAAAAAAAAK8/jyGhDEkWJJQ/Wargames%20054_thumb%5B2%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="548" height="423" /></a>First off is a picture of the Swedish regiments… under Father Tilly rules these world normally only be 12 infantry figures a unit, now represented by 30. I went with the blue and yellow brigades to start off, and made them fairly uniform since they were a mainstay unit.</p> <p align="center"><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TJan9AE2EvI/AAAAAAAAALA/BN9WYHqcS88/s1600-h/Wargames%20031%5B4%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px" title="Wargames 031" border="0" alt="Wargames 031" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TJaoAgkCEFI/AAAAAAAAALI/ihzb0oFPZ90/Wargames%20031_thumb%5B2%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="534" height="379" /></a>First up is the Blue brigade… haven’t decided which flag to paint on the second regiment yet.</p> <p align="center"><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TJaoEX79OSI/AAAAAAAAALM/Y9GLSAMQh3s/s1600-h/Wargames%20033%5B3%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="Wargames 033" border="0" alt="Wargames 033" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TJaoG073AAI/AAAAAAAAALQ/Wtyuk1HBcnA/Wargames%20033_thumb%5B1%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="334" height="181" /></a> <a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TJaoJ6NU1YI/AAAAAAAAALU/7QM9lAvOcM8/s1600-h/Wargames%20032%5B6%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="Wargames 032" border="0" alt="Wargames 032" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TJaoMb_3AlI/AAAAAAAAALY/oCshYMIXaUU/Wargames%20032_thumb%5B2%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="336" height="183" /></a> </p> <p align="left"><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TJaoQJcbdXI/AAAAAAAAALc/oKYVjrvnulY/s1600-h/Wargames%20039%5B3%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="Wargames 039" border="0" alt="Wargames 039" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TJaoSvhrzHI/AAAAAAAAALg/e_YAwHlkZSA/Wargames%20039_thumb%5B1%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="374" height="282" /></a> <a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TJaoWNhxb9I/AAAAAAAAALk/7ihqBfV7VdY/s1600-h/Wargames%20041%5B4%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="Wargames 041" border="0" alt="Wargames 041" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TJaoX97arhI/AAAAAAAAALo/o8PnLTI0j_s/Wargames%20041_thumb%5B2%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="349" height="212" /></a> </p> <p align="left">To point out that this is the Yellow Brigade kind of seems to be a statement of the obvious. Initially a plan to buy a company of marines, I now have about a battalion or so per side of unpainted lead plus a lot of support as well. Since it was a lazy Sunday afternoon and I had the camera out I snapped some pictures of my 15mm Marines to throw up here.</p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TIQ248Yg2kI/AAAAAAAAAKI/Sypdas2gw0o/s1600-h/Wargames%20Blog%20Sept%204%20019%5B4%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px" title="USMC Infantry Stands" border="0" alt="USMC Infantry Stands" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TIQ27TkK_oI/AAAAAAAAAKM/eQ7ZKMXNzBo/Wargames%20Blog%20Sept%204%20019_thumb%5B2%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="531" height="364" /></a><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TIQ2-_4yOAI/AAAAAAAAAKQ/EnsZ26dI2xU/s1600-h/Wargames%20Blog%20Sept%204%20005%5B2%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="Infantry" border="0" alt="Infantry" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TIQ3DLM_LMI/AAAAAAAAAKU/bCJmxWzl3A4/Wargames%20Blog%20Sept%204%20005_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="244" height="164" /></a> <a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TIQ3FzdXqiI/AAAAAAAAAKY/4HIJedkpD4w/s1600-h/Wargames%20Blog%20Sept%204%20006%5B2%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="Infantry" border="0" alt="Infantry" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TIQ3H7xndmI/AAAAAAAAAKc/1_8qgg5uOqg/Wargames%20Blog%20Sept%204%20006_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="244" height="164" /></a> <a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TIQ3KRdsNNI/AAAAAAAAAKg/6nubj_ii4RA/s1600-h/Wargames%20Blog%20Sept%204%20021%5B2%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="LMG Stand" border="0" alt="LMG Stand" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TIQ3MGBfVMI/AAAAAAAAAKk/1-j60BWlGt0/Wargames%20Blog%20Sept%204%20021_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="244" height="164" /></a> </p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TIQ3PZRcoNI/AAAAAAAAAKo/xzKS5t_spQw/s1600-h/Wargames%20Blog%20Sept%204%20020%5B4%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="Support Weapons" border="0" alt="Support Weapons" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TIQ3ScuOcUI/AAAAAAAAAKs/F35xUTs6suE/Wargames%20Blog%20Sept%204%20020_thumb%5B2%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="359" height="246" /></a> <a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TIQ3VmdUVDI/AAAAAAAAAKw/6MznL5w-mk4/s1600-h/Wargames%20Blog%20Sept%204%20022%5B4%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="Light Mortar Team" border="0" alt="Light Mortar Team" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TIQ3YuKedDI/AAAAAAAAAK0/s644Y2Ef_7U/Wargames%20Blog%20Sept%204%20022_thumb%5B2%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="380" height="261" /></a></p> The Warrior Polehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09568772179884921035noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-682914285775172007.post-25390920215587982272010-09-05T17:25:00.001-07:002010-09-05T17:25:47.991-07:0010mm ACW Union Infantry<p>While going to school at the Citadel I took a class on the American Civil War (a period dear to my heart and my first wargaming period) with my best friend Andrew. After three classes we decided to paint up two armies, and went with 10mm because it was cheap… sadly the project never really got off the ground, but I did get a few regiments painted, and photographed them today to show them off. If anyone is interested in trading some 28mm plastic ACW infantry for these and some other units I have let me know.</p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TIQ0xgRY51I/AAAAAAAAAJw/OIEz5Ud-qFk/s1600-h/acw%20%281%29%5B3%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px" title="A small brigade" border="0" alt="A small brigade" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TIQ01OshsvI/AAAAAAAAAJ0/LOi42Zi-r5g/acw%20%281%29_thumb%5B1%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="525" height="357" /></a><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TIQ05B_To6I/AAAAAAAAAJ4/yKunoONLM44/s1600-h/acw%20%282%29%5B2%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="Union regiment" border="0" alt="Union regiment" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TIQ07ncNF9I/AAAAAAAAAJ8/qfaza1fO1Ro/acw%20%282%29_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="244" height="164" /></a> <a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TIQ0-9UHVoI/AAAAAAAAAKA/1xiPWswHc2k/s1600-h/acw%20%283%29%5B3%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="Up close" border="0" alt="Up close" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TIQ1Cf96EuI/AAAAAAAAAKE/tIQtqdyvH18/acw%20%283%29_thumb%5B1%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="486" height="331" /></a></p> The Warrior Polehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09568772179884921035noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-682914285775172007.post-71477886804702792852010-09-05T17:20:00.001-07:002010-09-05T17:20:29.681-07:0020mm (1/72) North Koreans<p>As an update, I’ve based and finished up a bunch of my Imex 1/72 North Koreans for the Korean war, so here are a few photos.</p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TIQzervwj5I/AAAAAAAAAJQ/3nmFy80iXQU/s1600-h/Wargames%20Blog%20Sept%204%20023%5B3%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px" title="Wargames Blog Sept 4 023" border="0" alt="Wargames Blog Sept 4 023" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TIQziCtE6oI/AAAAAAAAAJU/pPhy8PE__gg/Wargames%20Blog%20Sept%204%20023_thumb%5B1%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="442" height="301" /></a><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TIQzlE6xQZI/AAAAAAAAAJY/0cwVFcBZe04/s1600-h/Wargames%20Blog%20Sept%204%20024%5B2%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="Wargames Blog Sept 4 024" border="0" alt="Wargames Blog Sept 4 024" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TIQznIXbEdI/AAAAAAAAAJc/N8FvISw-DIg/Wargames%20Blog%20Sept%204%20024_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="244" height="164" /></a> <a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TIQzqRxL3fI/AAAAAAAAAJg/CeVRueVHyL4/s1600-h/Wargames%20Blog%20Sept%204%20025%5B2%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="Wargames Blog Sept 4 025" border="0" alt="Wargames Blog Sept 4 025" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TIQzs6-As8I/AAAAAAAAAJk/UyAdQ4I6Fi4/Wargames%20Blog%20Sept%204%20025_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="244" height="164" /></a> <a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TIQzwQeWoZI/AAAAAAAAAJo/_mZNMrMnm9I/s1600-h/Wargames%20Blog%20Sept%204%20026%5B2%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="Wargames Blog Sept 4 026" border="0" alt="Wargames Blog Sept 4 026" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TIQzy_BtupI/AAAAAAAAAJs/EA80TUk9Mms/Wargames%20Blog%20Sept%204%20026_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="244" height="164" /></a></p> The Warrior Polehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09568772179884921035noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-682914285775172007.post-70835953593060687122010-09-05T17:11:00.001-07:002010-09-05T17:11:31.858-07:0010mm Thirty Years War Catholics<p>Any of you that have gamed with me at some point, or read my forum posts across the various wargaming sites, have probably heard of my desire to game the TYW. Initial plans were to add to my 28mm Renaissance armies with some more Old Glory miniatures, but I just wasn’t too happy with the appearance of a unit of 8 pike-men flanked by 12 musketeers. After thinking about it and toying with the idea for over a year I took the plunge and bought some (a couple thousand) 10mm miniatures from Old Glory. I’ve painted three Tercios, and am quite happy so far, and the armies have only begun!</p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TIQxUuy4STI/AAAAAAAAAIw/r0ip7bwGPa8/s1600-h/Wargames%20Blog%20Sept%204%20016%5B4%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px" title="Three Catholic Tercios" border="0" alt="Three Catholic Tercios" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TIQxYEZBXnI/AAAAAAAAAI0/tKBZC14sTUs/Wargames%20Blog%20Sept%204%20016_thumb%5B2%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="498" height="342" /></a>Pictured here are the three tercios, one Bavarian and two Imperialist. While I doubt the actual soldiers of the TYW had anything near the uniformity seen here (I tried to give each Tercio and overall visible color), I like the unity each formation has.</p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TIQxbUsR8aI/AAAAAAAAAI4/D1sobZwygG0/s1600-h/Wargames%20Blog%20Sept%204%20011%5B5%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="Imperialist Tercio" border="0" alt="Imperialist Tercio" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TIQxd5zDQTI/AAAAAAAAAI8/WK0Qs61n6-k/Wargames%20Blog%20Sept%204%20011_thumb%5B3%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="374" height="259" /></a>  <a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TIQxgqYUleI/AAAAAAAAAJA/E99jAI47CPE/s1600-h/Wargames%20Blog%20Sept%204%20015%5B5%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="Imperialist Tercio" border="0" alt="Imperialist Tercio" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/TIQxkLhxvZI/AAAAAAAAAJE/diDY8JQMyow/Wargames%20Blog%20Sept%204%20015_thumb%5B3%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="363" height="264" /></a> </p> <p>The miniatures are based with plans to use them for Father Tilly or Warfare in the Age of Discovery with each base of ten 10mm miniatures in place of four 15mm. I then find myself wandering back to the barracks to see what miniatures are available. Well this semester saw me in a class on the Romans, and I made it a whole three weeks before I wanted to order some legionaries and barbarians. I talked my classmate Andrew (he’s normally a WWII tread-head with a soft-spot for Panzers) into joining me in my descent into ancients (It wasn’t too hard… he’s doing ancient Germans under the pretense that they’re the predecessors of the Wehrmacht haha). We each ordered a box of Ancients, and I got the Romans. I’ve only painted five, but they turned out well so I thought I’d upload them.</p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/S6tksbQysfI/AAAAAAAAAHw/v4O3N6KjZa4/s1600-h/IMG_37425.jpg"><img style="border-right-width: 0px; display: block; float: none; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left-width: 0px; margin-right: auto" title="Warlord Games Legionaries" border="0" alt="Warlord Games Legionaries" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/S6tksWVZaJI/AAAAAAAAAH0/_ik-wa_AxD8/IMG_3742_thumb3.jpg?imgmax=800" width="563" height="323" /></a> <a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/S6tks4gyN4I/AAAAAAAAAH4/PldjSbX0jRE/s1600-h/IMG_37413.jpg"><img style="border-right-width: 0px; display: block; float: none; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left-width: 0px; margin-right: auto" title="I based them in preparation for Teutonberg Wald" border="0" alt="I based them in preparation for Teutonberg Wald" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/S6tktLsIJ8I/AAAAAAAAAH8/epySSFMrD2g/IMG_3741_thumb1.jpg?imgmax=800" width="263" height="314" /></a></p> The Warrior Polehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09568772179884921035noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-682914285775172007.post-87183654540921065632010-03-25T06:26:00.003-07:002010-03-25T06:26:58.227-07:00Force on Force: 20mm Korean War (WIP 1)<p>During my second or third FoF game with my friend Pat back in Montana, he made an offhanded comment in regards to how the rules would make for a good set to play the Korean War with. I have painted up a lot of 15mm Marines and Chinese, but for FoF I’ve really liked my 20mm moderns. With the upcoming release of HBO’s <em>The Pacific</em> I began to think about painting 20mm marines, and the Imex Korean War box sets appealed to me as a cheap and easy way to get communist forces done. Around the time I found several diecast 1/72 T35/85’s for $7 bucks a piece I decided that I’d at least make a small foray into 20mm Korean War gaming. As a result I’ve been doing some painting:</p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/S6tkkmejxCI/AAAAAAAAAHI/3SaRdQFpQB8/s1600-h/IMG_37433.jpg"><img style="border-right-width: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px" title="Fantassin 1/72 Marines" border="0" alt="Fantassin 1/72 Marines" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/S6tkk7g5TyI/AAAAAAAAAHM/IZ_FfyiTLMU/IMG_3743_thumb1.jpg?imgmax=800" width="367" height="164" /></a>  <a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/S6tklfAd2GI/AAAAAAAAAHQ/cgyj47w1stQ/s1600-h/IMG_37443.jpg"><img style="border-right-width: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px" title="Fantassin 1/72 Marines" border="0" alt="Fantassin 1/72 Marines" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/S6tkmMw3n5I/AAAAAAAAAHU/0ctGpKYikEo/IMG_3744_thumb1.jpg?imgmax=800" width="307" height="164" /></a> </p> <p>These are Fantassin miniatures WWII Pacific Marines. I wanted my Marines to be suitable for either Korea or WWII, and I was especially drawn to the extra equipment on these miniatures. I bought the Boxed set and then an additional six riflemen, and I’ve been pretty impressed with the miniatures. The helmet covers have turned out especially well.</p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/S6tkmSuWm0I/AAAAAAAAAHY/8QzG6oh00B0/s1600-h/IMG_37464.jpg"><img style="border-right-width: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px" title="Imex Korean War Chinese" border="0" alt="Imex Korean War Chinese" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/S6tkmzwV3kI/AAAAAAAAAHc/xud0--xYByA/IMG_3746_thumb2.jpg?imgmax=800" width="343" height="235" /></a> <a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/S6tknQWO-CI/AAAAAAAAAHg/ligobXYqPf4/s1600-h/IMG_37475.jpg"><img style="border-right-width: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px" title="Chinese with PPSH's" border="0" alt="Chinese with PPSH's" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/S6tkngOPprI/AAAAAAAAAHk/a9ngE3e8OCA/IMG_3747_thumb3.jpg?imgmax=800" width="364" height="241" /></a> </p> <p>Up next are some communists, miniatures from Imex’s Korean War Chinese boxed set. I was initially planning to do North Koreans instead, but a sale of $5.00 for a box of 50 Chinese changed my mind, and I grabbed two boxes. They’ve painted up decently, though the faces have been a pain in the ass, and I’m still not that happy with them, but that’s one of the disadvantages of plastics.</p> <p align="center"><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/S6tkn5ljDdI/AAAAAAAAAHo/te4T0gbT_U8/s1600-h/IMG_37456.jpg"><img style="border-right-width: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px" title="Forces of Valor T-34/85s" border="0" alt="Forces of Valor T-34/85s" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/S6tkoXG7SeI/AAAAAAAAAHs/wNBz4HAfu3g/IMG_3745_thumb4.jpg?imgmax=800" width="383" height="335" /></a> </p> <p align="left">Finally, here are the T34/85’s I picked up (Forces of Valor models). I’ll be repainting them so that they’re more generic communist tanks with just a red star (because I have a sneaking suspicion 20mm WWII Russians may be in my future), and I may remove one of the tank commanders if I can get the hatch to close. From what I’ve read the Chinese never had armor, but the NKPA did, so I’m going to assume that perhaps the Chinese got a little support for the time being and at $7.00 a vehicle they were hard to pass up.</p> <p align="left">Now to get everything painted.</p> The Warrior Polehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09568772179884921035noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-682914285775172007.post-24471638679384103002010-03-25T06:26:00.001-07:002010-03-25T06:26:23.357-07:0028mm Viking Progress<p>After a long absence due to a lack of camera and the minor inconvenience that college life presents, I’m finally getting another post up here. Near the end of last semester I ordered some 28mm Vikings from Old Glory 25s intending to use them with LOTRs rules variants. I painted about six and burnt out, but this semester I found some more motivation, and got 24 done in the first half of the semester.</p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/S6tkdL9H2FI/AAAAAAAAAGY/KCymT__-aso/s1600-h/IMG_37311.jpg"><img style="border-right-width: 0px; display: block; float: none; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left-width: 0px; margin-right: auto" title="The beginnings of a Viking Horde" border="0" alt="The beginnings of a Viking Horde" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/S6tkdUXdz7I/AAAAAAAAAGc/met01eMr9Ks/IMG_3731_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="591" height="322" /></a><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/S6tkdiF0kcI/AAAAAAAAAGg/VVyk3eGEATA/s1600-h/IMG_37331.jpg"><img style="border-right-width: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px" title="Some of my favorite shields" border="0" alt="Some of my favorite shields" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/S6tkdgbHl7I/AAAAAAAAAGk/8oKeTfrOFCc/IMG_3733_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="432" height="163" /></a> <a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/S6tkdzDdzFI/AAAAAAAAAGo/ghdIHvWGBow/s1600-h/IMG_37374.jpg"><img style="border-right-width: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; margin-right: 0px" title="Three of my favorite Vikings" border="0" alt="Three of my favorite Vikings" align="left" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/S6tkeEPr8WI/AAAAAAAAAGs/lx4DenaWleM/IMG_3737_thumb2.jpg?imgmax=800" width="480" height="243" /></a> <a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/S6tkeQhziPI/AAAAAAAAAGw/Fvh1TWYXv6I/s1600-h/IMG_37352.jpg"><img style="border-right-width: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px" title="And a few more" border="0" alt="And a few more" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/S6tkegFURtI/AAAAAAAAAG0/VtlxgkeI-RE/IMG_3735_thumb2.jpg?imgmax=800" width="261" height="166" /></a> <a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/S6tke8rz7vI/AAAAAAAAAG4/G6D8zklPa_I/s1600-h/IMG_37392.jpg"><img style="border-right-width: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px" title="No idea if the stripes are historically accurate, but they looked good and added variety" border="0" alt="No idea if the stripes are historically accurate, but they looked good and added variety" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/S6tkfCr_sZI/AAAAAAAAAG8/oMQPJVCLT1I/IMG_3739_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="198" height="244" /></a> </p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/S6tkffAbKwI/AAAAAAAAAHA/2E9VyMeXYHY/s1600-h/IMG_37403.jpg"><img style="border-right-width: 0px; display: block; float: none; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left-width: 0px; margin-right: auto" title="This is the kind of guy you want next to you in a shield wall" border="0" alt="This is the kind of guy you want next to you in a shield wall" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/S6tkfjufEDI/AAAAAAAAAHE/7f35FxLbANI/IMG_3740_thumb1.jpg?imgmax=800" width="250" height="266" /></a></p> The Warrior Polehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09568772179884921035noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-682914285775172007.post-88014532568679563712010-01-06T12:06:00.001-08:002010-01-06T12:06:47.454-08:00Taliban Incoming!<p>Well I finally broke down and ordered some Taliban for Force on Force. After my last experience with over a month wait for minis from SyrHobbs Wargames (without any word) I was a little hesitant to order. Then the Hobby Den (<a href="http://www.thehobbyden.com">www.thehobbyden.com</a>) posted on the AAG forum that they had just gotten in the full Afghan range from Brittania miniatures. After looking at a few of the sculpts I knew I wanted to get a couple dozen, so I placed an order. That night I got a message saying they were packed and would ship the next morning! Talk about amazing service! They may even beat me back to Charleston!</p> <p>Here’s a list of what I picked up:</p> <p><tt>3 x figures with RPG 7’s <br />6 x figures running with AK47’s <br />6 x figures advancing with AK47’s  <br />3 x Figures firing AK 47 <br />3 man Afghan HMG kneeling firing <br />3 man 81mm mortar firing <br />3 x Figures advancing / Firing rifles <br />2 x Motorcycle with 2 afghans and LMG + RPG <br />3 figs advancing/firing RPK LMG’s</tt></p> <p>So I ought to be in pretty good stead to start running some smaller Afghanistan games! My excitement for the new hadji’s aside, Christmas break is drawing to a close, and it has been tremendously productive as far as painting goes. I’m going to be uploading some pictures in the next few days of my most productive projects including:</p> <ul> <li>20mm African Militia</li> <li>28mm War of the Roses</li> <li>20mm USMC for Afghanistan</li> <li>15mm USMC for Vietnam</li> <li>15mm WWI Russians</li> <li>15mm WWI Poles</li> </ul> The Warrior Polehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09568772179884921035noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-682914285775172007.post-29499584823464997972009-12-25T22:13:00.001-08:002009-12-25T22:13:53.288-08:00Axis and Allies: War At Sea AAR<p>Along with the Force on Force game, we also played two games of A&A war at sea. Pat introduced me to this very fun and relatively simple game, and I greatly enjoyed it. We initially played a small game with only a few ships, and I was so intrigued by the rules that I encouraged Pat to drag out bigger fleets. The result was a Pacific Theatre action between Japanese and American Battle groups.</p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/SzWo5lPUuUI/AAAAAAAAAFE/pteuRaIFZE8/s1600-h/Gaming%20008%5B2%5D.jpg"><img style="border-right-width: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px" title="American Group" border="0" alt="American Group" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/SzWo7hDPHUI/AAAAAAAAAFI/-U-KAa1WHSg/Gaming%20008_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="244" height="184" /></a> <a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/SzWo-5mkRjI/AAAAAAAAAFM/ETFB6MUUURw/s1600-h/Gaming%20009%5B2%5D.jpg"><img style="border-right-width: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px" title="Japanese Group" border="0" alt="Japanese Group" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/SzWpAyIGp-I/AAAAAAAAAFQ/p6X5YY-JP80/Gaming%20009_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="244" height="184" /></a> <a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/SzWpEPPVlsI/AAAAAAAAAFU/yI87sO679e0/s1600-h/Gaming%20010%5B2%5D.jpg"><img style="border-right-width: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px" title="Turn One, the Enterprise gets swarmed by Jap aircraft." border="0" alt="Turn One, the Enterprise gets swarmed by Jap aircraft." src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/SzWpFyjkQuI/AAAAAAAAAFY/A_SiIPnnyKw/Gaming%20010_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="244" height="184" /></a> </p> <p></p> <p></p> <p></p> <p>Both groups deployed relatively concentrated, the Japanese (under Pat) were slightly more dispersed than my Americans. The first turn both sides moved towards each other, and then unleashed swarms of aircraft at each other. Pat dedicated almost all of his against my carrier and it’s escort throughout the game, whereas I chose to attack the small cruisers he had let stray from the main group. I figured that I’d concentrate my airpower in places where he had limited anti-air capabilities, whittle down as much as I could, and then bring all my ships to bear on a weakened Japanese force at one time.</p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/SzWpJKTL6tI/AAAAAAAAAFc/DTeh3zBh7fs/s1600-h/Gaming%20012%5B2%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="Early success as we sink a Japanese cruiser on turn one" border="0" alt="Early success as we sink a Japanese cruiser on turn one" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/SzWpLJzTM7I/AAAAAAAAAFg/tQDxk0ISnqM/Gaming%20012_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="244" height="184" /></a> <a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/SzWpNoEkQTI/AAAAAAAAAFk/_l68NnPSEM0/s1600-h/Gaming%20014%5B2%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="Turn two the US NAvy moved on to sink another cruiser, further thinning the Japanese group" border="0" alt="Turn two the US NAvy moved on to sink another cruiser, further thinning the Japanese group" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/SzWpPxn2CkI/AAAAAAAAAFo/fi-orED27yg/Gaming%20014_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="244" height="184" /></a> <a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/SzWpSIqHL1I/AAAAAAAAAFs/bQNi9GPGx24/s1600-h/Gaming%20016%5B2%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="Pat moves his big ships forward, as we prepare to reach the battle's climax" border="0" alt="Pat moves his big ships forward, as we prepare to reach the battle's climax" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/SzWpTyfTqWI/AAAAAAAAAFw/0QdH01LtjZI/Gaming%20016_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="244" height="184" /></a> </p> <p></p> <p></p> <p></p> <p>Initially a fairly successful plan, I’d sank three Japanese ships through airpower before the main guns were even in range. One of my destroyers was badly crippled from Japanese air attacks, but I hadn’t lost a single ship yet so I was feeling pretty good. As Pat’s battleships drew closer however, I realized everything was about to be decided in a rapid flurry of volleys from the big ships. The final action took place in two areas, on my left the big ships engaged, while on my right Pat’s smaller ships attempted to strike at my cruisers.</p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/SzWpWiPILhI/AAAAAAAAAF0/lsw5yjF6C2A/s1600-h/Gaming%20019%5B2%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="Pat's lighter cruisers are annihilated by my sub, cruisers, and air support." border="0" alt="Pat's lighter cruisers are annihilated by my sub, cruisers, and air support." src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/SzWpYAzEsgI/AAAAAAAAAF4/x2zLFb1Od-U/Gaming%20019_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="244" height="184" /></a> <a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/SzWpbJpE__I/AAAAAAAAAF8/khUw8VYQtXY/s1600-h/Gaming%20020%5B2%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="The battleships and destroyers square off." border="0" alt="The battleships and destroyers square off." src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/SzWpc7qq2EI/AAAAAAAAAGA/TX2163aKhmQ/Gaming%20020_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="244" height="184" /></a> <a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/SzWpgQ9snnI/AAAAAAAAAGE/5bJyfGOXiSI/s1600-h/Gaming%20021%5B2%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="Pat's Roll. Pat’s smaller ships were outnumbered and outgunned. I’d gained air superiority as squadrons of Pat’s aircraft were wiped out by the AA capabilities of my carrier and her escort. The result was that I was allowed to unleash my fighters and bombers without a need to hold back defensive capabilities. Pat’s last two cruisers and his sub were all sunk in a turn, but the big battle remained to my left with the battleships. It was here my luck ended, as Pat rolled an insane set of dice (see the picture) which completely annihilated my Battleship. I came close to sinking his, but I wasn’t quite there. My destroyer also took damage and was crippled, but barely clung to life.</p> <p>At that point we agreed both groups would probably have withdrawn to lick their wounds. I had speed and air superiority on my side which would have allowed me to get away, but he had the big guns so I couldn’t really stay and fight. Overall a draw, though the Japanese definitely lost more ships, I lost my battleship. Remarkably both carriers remained undamaged. An excellent game, I will certainly be looking into collecting a fleet or two for it!</p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/SzWpk5Fff_I/AAAAAAAAAGM/tFhN_i8EAdg/s1600-h/Gaming%20022%5B4%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="Yeah. Here is an After action of the small Ambush Alley: Force on Force game we played that day. Minis are 20mm Liberation, painted by myself, terrain is Pat’s and the buildings are actually 15mm, since we were sorta just scrounging for whatever was at hand.</p> <p>SITUATION: Recent Somali pirate attacks of the coast of Africa have led the US to take drastic action against these emerging networks. A team of FAST Marines will be sent in to capture a HVT believed to be feeding intel to the pirates.</p> <p>MISSION: Find, secure, and extract the HVT from the objective.</p> <p>EXECUTION: On order, FAST Marines will conduct an assault on the Objective, find the HVT, eliminate any hostile forces impeding progress, and fall back to the LZ to await extraction.</p> <p>THE BATTLE:</p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/SzGfZiYz6lI/AAAAAAAAAEA/pZCF7wGwXoE/s1600-h/Gaming%20025%5B6%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="Gaming 025" border="0" alt="Gaming 025" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/SzGfdmZcooI/AAAAAAAAAEE/P_kHZTHK0sM/Gaming%20025_thumb%5B4%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="543" height="399" /></a> </p> <p>At the start of the game, the Marines entered from the South and began to skirt the field. The immediately came under sporadic fire from various militia in the buildings, and more rushed from positions north of the town. It quickly became evident that the Marines would have to fight their way in. The Marines opened fire on their enemies, and pirates began dropping like flies. The pirates sporadically sprayed bullets in the direction of the Marines, but without any effect.</p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/SzGfgirAoII/AAAAAAAAAEM/3k1FydE8tFM/s1600-h/Gaming%20026%5B4%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="Gaming 026" border="0" alt="Gaming 026" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/SzGfj93VjHI/AAAAAAAAAEQ/wuC_sFuhCyQ/Gaming%20026_thumb%5B2%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="511" height="391" /></a> </p> <p>Sizing up the situation, Sgt. Patrick led the Marines forward in an aggressive push towards the village, since their fire had been effectively clearing any enemy resistance. Fireteam Alpha pushed on the left, taking cover amongst some rocks, while Bravo moved into the soft cover of the field, still carefully taking shots at the pirates brave enough to expose themselves.</p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/SzGfmm5hF9I/AAAAAAAAAEc/kl3w09sCiRY/s1600-h/Gaming%20028%5B3%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="Gaming 028" border="0" alt="Gaming 028" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/SzGfuAkcdNI/AAAAAAAAAEg/8lhdNItr_ek/Gaming%20028_thumb%5B1%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="480" height="365" /></a> </p> <p>Bravo then launched an assault upon the southernmost building, and wiped out the pirates inside. As they charged in, a Lance Corporal was grazed in the arm, but the light wound was not nearly severe enough to keep him out of the fight. Clearing the building, the HVT was nowhere in sight. Seeing the success of Bravo’s assault, Alpha attacked the large western building and in a hail of gunfire they cleared it without taking any casualties, but the HVT was nowhere to be seen.</p> <p> <a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/SzGfwC_8GyI/AAAAAAAAAEk/iZ5_cc_mg5w/s1600-h/Gaming%20029%5B3%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="Gaming 029" border="0" alt="Gaming 029" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/SzGf3VdEQJI/AAAAAAAAAEo/1ZdYsBQNdhQ/Gaming%20029_thumb%5B1%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="374" height="284" /></a> <a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/SzGf5NYUDyI/AAAAAAAAAEs/IGtJ00ZrElU/s1600-h/Gaming%20030%5B4%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="Gaming 030" border="0" alt="Gaming 030" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/SzGf8QZAMKI/AAAAAAAAAEw/guVPat46dK4/Gaming%20030_thumb%5B2%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="368" height="286" /></a> </p> <p>As they secured the building, however, large groups of pirate reinforcements arrived to the north and east of the village, and the Marines quickly realized that they needed to find their HVT and get out fast, before the pirates consolidated and surrounded them. Bravo dashed across the street to seize the easternmost building, and began to engage the pirates to the east. As the firefight began to escalate, LCpl. Jameson discovered the HVT hiding in a secret compartment beneath a rug in the living room. Elated, the Marines began to plan their withdrawal.</p> <p>Then suddenly, the entire situation went straight to hell in a hand basket. A volley of RPGs and concentrated LMG fire from the northern mob of pirates wiped out Alpha, killing two of them and leaving the other two severely wounded. As Bravo continued to engage targets, they too came under vicious volleys of RPGs and small arms fire, which left two of them severely wounded, and the others lightly wounded. </p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/SzGf-2ps-aI/AAAAAAAAAE0/EzGuANu47HE/s1600-h/Gaming%20032%5B6%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="Gaming 032" border="0" alt="Gaming 032" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/SzGgA2qieQI/AAAAAAAAAE4/-4oHP2FZiQc/Gaming%20032_thumb%5B4%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="379" height="293" /></a>  <a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/SzGgDAq4R6I/AAAAAAAAAE8/rNk0Ovgefwo/s1600-h/Gaming%20034%5B7%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="Gaming 034" border="0" alt="Gaming 034" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_sd9FwWvL_jI/SzGgFmtWHzI/AAAAAAAAAFA/sVtbyqXr9b8/Gaming%20034_thumb%5B5%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="368" height="288" /></a> </p> <p></p> <p></p> <p></p> <p></p> <p></p> <p></p> <p>At this point we called the game as a pirate victory. They were quickly closing in on a terribly shot up group of Marines, who did not really have a viable escape option. While the two lightly wounded members of Bravo might have been able to withdraw with their wounded team members, Alpha was essentially lost, and there wasn’t a single able-bodied Marine to control the HVT. </p> <p>Ultimately a close run game, but the Marines simply ran out of luck late in the mission. Some atrocious die rolling on Pat’s part doomed Alpha, and Bravo was left without many options. While it was a last minute twist, I dare say it helped to illustrate how quickly “S**T happens” and can happen in combat operations. Overall a very enjoyable, if brief game that helped solidify the rules in my mind… they’re really starting to grow on me!</p> <div style="padding-bottom: 0px; margin: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: none; padding-top: 0px" id="scid:0767317B-992E-4b12-91E0-4F059A8CECA8:3ce2efe5-39de-4e89-b2aa-500257fb4be0" class="wlWriterEditableSmartContent">Technorati Tags: <a href="http://technorati.com/tags/Force+on+Force" rel="tag">Force on Force</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/20mm" rel="tag">20mm</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/Modern" rel="tag">Modern</a>,<a href="http://technorati.com/tags/USMC" rel="tag">USMC</a></div> The Warrior Polehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09568772179884921035noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-682914285775172007.post-32868957422139167702009-05-03T10:43:00.000-07:002009-05-03T10:58:58.274-07:00Projects for this Coming SummerWell folks, with my final exam tommorrow, I've at the point of accepting the fact that my Junior year of college here at the Citadel is coming to an end without completing nearly enough wargaming projects. However, with the addition of my blog, I'm sorta hoping that I'll have some better accountability with getting stuff done this summer (After OCS May21-July2). So here's a list of what I'd like to accomplish:<br /><br />TERRAIN: I've got 100 3-in premade trees on the way from Asia, which I hope to rapidly base up before leaving for OCS, so my primary terrain will be done. I've also started building a 20mm Afghan village, and want to get my Eastern European buildings for my 28mm Poles done.<br /><br />MODERNS: With the release of Force on Force, I delved deep into moderns after a lot of procrastination. I started trying out 15mm, but I just wasn't having fun painting individual figures in that scale. So I'm gonna go ahead and give 20mm a shot. I've ordered a bunch of Afghans from SyrHobb games, and I've started on an arid groundcloth to play over. I'd really like to get to some Modern Russians and Chechens if time allows<br /><br />RENNAISSANCE: Maybe get a box or two of the Plastic Warlord minis and start my Imperial German army.<br /><br />MEDEIVAL: I've wanted to do Medeivals for some time, and I'm thinking of doing either Dark Age Britain, War of the Roses, or maybe Eastern Europe (Poles, Teutonic Knights, etc.)<br /><br />NAPOLEONICS; Still cracking away at doing a battalion or so at a time, maybe by the end of the year both divisions will be complete<br /><br />WWII: I now have more Japs then I know what to do with. Maybe One Day I'll get somewhere with them...The Warrior Polehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09568772179884921035noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-682914285775172007.post-55602387646489837762009-04-23T19:38:00.000-07:002009-04-23T19:49:25.112-07:0015mm WWII Game and Grass Mat<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVdR4gQnTtLluVnyS7nPhHnoo8QN9B_JF3g7POUeHvH4OWjKH1a9ml4EHHGghivP-KMfcnhnqU_og6Z9SIQDSwQAz0GgMfNNbStmXdzjnBPXeZN3cmI7TRy9PFxe5XzZbt2T4iTJmCMdo/s1600-h/100_1858_JPG.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5328084010750816994" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVdR4gQnTtLluVnyS7nPhHnoo8QN9B_JF3g7POUeHvH4OWjKH1a9ml4EHHGghivP-KMfcnhnqU_og6Z9SIQDSwQAz0GgMfNNbStmXdzjnBPXeZN3cmI7TRy9PFxe5XzZbt2T4iTJmCMdo/s400/100_1858_JPG.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMN92Ajg5fyj9LS5YEx680wk8V7kTP60LxBw07sH0X_ZMwOR4AkyoWr0V8I8jBgOF1sQX17XwADZqXduYZugRhGpv88WlF7vJa36koz0NzXLiQCM3Fav9VPRbl1t9n7EX36p65rmYPXPc/s1600-h/100_1853_JPG.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5328083897199434178" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMN92Ajg5fyj9LS5YEx680wk8V7kTP60LxBw07sH0X_ZMwOR4AkyoWr0V8I8jBgOF1sQX17XwADZqXduYZugRhGpv88WlF7vJa36koz0NzXLiQCM3Fav9VPRbl1t9n7EX36p65rmYPXPc/s400/100_1853_JPG.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiet3tywdeSCsg8sSxwUnxEYnhbkDSgH6xqXmXPyOEGftf5sVCrYYc6Vi1z6pJr-gmHLAHwvIamrEVrg4C_q9SWM2AtRcPoPhaLaNvsxkShRX7dJKsUU5GeZ0wg5zWZea0sQdDrPU5VIy0/s1600-h/100_1857_JPG.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5328083717499716226" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiet3tywdeSCsg8sSxwUnxEYnhbkDSgH6xqXmXPyOEGftf5sVCrYYc6Vi1z6pJr-gmHLAHwvIamrEVrg4C_q9SWM2AtRcPoPhaLaNvsxkShRX7dJKsUU5GeZ0wg5zWZea0sQdDrPU5VIy0/s400/100_1857_JPG.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj01TDjy7O-AoXo9NsoMX-fJjN0rUTxOX4iYsw8I4flvY_L_8WbDpsv6S5Hk6z_DV1wLrRJ3__j9LYa0GMUXmcBq0s3aqhuQDfapC6SXfW9CcbyCkNNWHdTkCfGqq3BiPvOvxSEvukQv1E/s1600-h/100_1853_JPG.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5328083447855493010" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj01TDjy7O-AoXo9NsoMX-fJjN0rUTxOX4iYsw8I4flvY_L_8WbDpsv6S5Hk6z_DV1wLrRJ3__j9LYa0GMUXmcBq0s3aqhuQDfapC6SXfW9CcbyCkNNWHdTkCfGqq3BiPvOvxSEvukQv1E/s400/100_1853_JPG.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDR-1Dq3H3dV1PAiIy2uputxjZao0dW3a7f1gHFajY-wyp_XnikbtuMs-EQoI6b-_AElIumio5fU7XBNfJ21vzhdMkC3cEeTKHT0Ml4O0ESB9zZjjDwVVeMfMsjcUrWj9PQqB1dDorzV8/s1600-h/100_1864_JPG.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5328083253336944146" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 335px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 247px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDR-1Dq3H3dV1PAiIy2uputxjZao0dW3a7f1gHFajY-wyp_XnikbtuMs-EQoI6b-_AElIumio5fU7XBNfJ21vzhdMkC3cEeTKHT0Ml4O0ESB9zZjjDwVVeMfMsjcUrWj9PQqB1dDorzV8/s400/100_1864_JPG.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div></div></div></div></div></div>The Warrior Polehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09568772179884921035noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-682914285775172007.post-57094664248744471392009-04-23T19:30:00.001-07:002009-04-23T19:49:44.458-07:0015mm NVAAs I build up various battlegroups for Force on Force, I've been working on my 15mm NVA, which i've had for entirely too long. My diorama was based on the Ardennes, which I intend to post later, and my objective was a scene from Band of Brothers, designed to fit with the US Paratrooper company I had at the time. Since the new site, the pictures have dissapeared, so I thought I'd repost them here. The only thing I'm not happy with is the parachute canopy, but my creative juices died before I could develop an alternative.<br /><br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5301606787713558530" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 430px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 391px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhuyE1B-yCV3ghgZtxW51GTd90yqmUbPsCHvpqQseRxqL1a7WzBTvv9rO9aanfEGBi1lF44VofxAOvaJKxTfxwiCdpGBJwZBigSsF3LlGWIjJ0ZgsistOgEeuTaEx-hCF48M7K7z3EsUFY/s400/EW-objective-01.jpg" border="0" /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8l-GOdEX-Y2GfTH-zc4_TOlFLxnu2DoveOyxtSjTrIF3hizHFo8r_eTuORBbAPKbvmL3Q6gLk4X44fbqdlnh9VCpI1AXaDe_soVigHR3lGx9M5Q5tm_5Bn_XntmidQKZEXfG-FnJIe-g/s1600-h/DSCN0532.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5301606796305014930" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 302px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8l-GOdEX-Y2GfTH-zc4_TOlFLxnu2DoveOyxtSjTrIF3hizHFo8r_eTuORBbAPKbvmL3Q6gLk4X44fbqdlnh9VCpI1AXaDe_soVigHR3lGx9M5Q5tm_5Bn_XntmidQKZEXfG-FnJIe-g/s400/DSCN0532.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQCVBLju7wxHr5vTN_SuMqjWOigX6XplCGF7ljm1ze-P8d-jzseOQyYCxfXQ1miVEavCHVy0RWnB_L6S2Rc2UloidMWf2ELI7Sfpj9eQpPLGmFGK3WykjOQ3D75mrrUFFJgn371aoOJDY/s1600-h/objective2.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5301606791382461266" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 309px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQCVBLju7wxHr5vTN_SuMqjWOigX6XplCGF7ljm1ze-P8d-jzseOQyYCxfXQ1miVEavCHVy0RWnB_L6S2Rc2UloidMWf2ELI7Sfpj9eQpPLGmFGK3WykjOQ3D75mrrUFFJgn371aoOJDY/s400/objective2.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div><br /><br /><br /><div></div></div>The Warrior Polehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09568772179884921035noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-682914285775172007.post-31603301933554961572009-02-10T20:35:00.000-08:002009-02-10T21:03:06.901-08:00Summer of 2008, Napoleonic Game<div align="center">General De Brigade, 28mm Peninsular War Game<br /><br /></div><div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghM1v_wlcGDjF_Bo5ONRF4zh1kfIiS-QHEaZOy1e-mgjB0UE0JI4gwxEzPzbrCGfcniNY0OKi2OFzJ9-kQpczDMyJK3CE6__yl7oM1bvng_RKWO1hzQNJ9mKJxnu048Xdm-fzNpte_LEc/s1600-h/Sophomore+Year+080.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5301395815059057362" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghM1v_wlcGDjF_Bo5ONRF4zh1kfIiS-QHEaZOy1e-mgjB0UE0JI4gwxEzPzbrCGfcniNY0OKi2OFzJ9-kQpczDMyJK3CE6__yl7oM1bvng_RKWO1hzQNJ9mKJxnu048Xdm-fzNpte_LEc/s320/Sophomore+Year+080.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8kzB_2tAfur_mwjBUbG3HFUYSimjuCWFZew_PNpFo4nLU5Us1s2cekvXqnXXzbB8Ae7IFg3MFqAslCaXOPo5-wVzphsodTOWHKraBtqspOCZcdveoJfMY_L0nPxtxk17KtxpPvz7x0Kg/s1600-h/Sophomore+Year+084.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5301395813397747762" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8kzB_2tAfur_mwjBUbG3HFUYSimjuCWFZew_PNpFo4nLU5Us1s2cekvXqnXXzbB8Ae7IFg3MFqAslCaXOPo5-wVzphsodTOWHKraBtqspOCZcdveoJfMY_L0nPxtxk17KtxpPvz7x0Kg/s320/Sophomore+Year+084.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /></div><div align="center"><br /><br /><br /><br /></div><div align="center"><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /></div><div align="center"><br /><br /> </div><div align="center"><br />While it has been a while since this game, I do still have the pictures. I've wanted to do this for some time as a way of sharing my efforts in wargaming, as well as gaining motivation and encouragement from others, since I do a lot of solo wargaming. I currently game:<br /><br />Napoleonics: 28mm British and French for the Peninsula, soon to be Spanish<br />Eastern Renaissance: 28mm Swedes and Poles, maybe Muscovites one of these days<br />WWII: 15mm Pacific Stuff, still very much a WIP<br />Korean War: Another WIP, with Chinese and Marines<br />Moderns: 20mm Marines and their enemies, don't game with them much though.<br /><br />I look forward to the support of those who read, please feel free to drop me a line... we cadets tend to find ourselves rather bored after a while....The Warrior Polehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09568772179884921035noreply@blogger.com0
